Allenby Road
The name suggests this street was developed soon after World War I and named after Sir Edmund Henry Hynman Allenby, a Field Marshall during World War I. According to John McKenzie quoted by Ros Maroney "Allenby Rd. was originally supposed to be an all-brick area, but some weatherboard houses were later erected there in the 1950s".
