Churchill Avenue was named after Sir Winston Churchill. In 1997 Trevor Jaeger commented "There was originally no road between Glenroi and McLachlan St., only a bikepath with a footbridge. After World War II, the shop was opened, and Churchill Ave. was put in, named after Sir Winston Churchill".
