Named after the Dalton family, owners of Bletchington Estate. Dalton Street was the southern boundary of the Bletchington Estate, parts of which were sold by Leeds Bros. and John Kenna for the Trustees of the Late [Thomas Dalton] on 29 March 1941.1941 map shows Dalton St. only extending as far as the railway crossing. Extension east of the line is named Ophir Rd.
