Admitted to 3rd Canadian General Hospital, Basingstoke, suffering a severe gunshot wound and fracture to the right ankle 21 July 1916. Transferred to 1st Southern General Hospital 23 July 1916. Admitted to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 26 March 1917. Embarked Miltiades, Devonport, for return to Australia 4 May 1917. Returned to Australia 5 July 1917. Discharged from AIF due to medical unfitness 24 August 1917.

Date of death: 13 November 1987, aged 91
