Marched in to 5th Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 16 October 1916. Taken on strength 53rd Battalion 26 October 1916. Admitted to 39th Casualty Clearing Station with mumps 8 November 1916. Transferred to 25th Stationary Hospital, Rouen, 9 November 1916. Rejoined unit 20 December 1916. Proceeded to Sniping School 9 July 1917. Rejoined unit 22 July 1917. Admitted to 3rd Casualty Clearing Station with gunshot wounds to the left forearm, 27 July 1917. Transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital Dartford, England, 3 October 1917. Marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 22 October 1917. Rejoined unit, France, 10 April 1918. Killed in action, France, 29 July 1918.
