Whilst I am very excited by the times ahead with regard to bringing major projects into operation, for example: Rural Fire Services, Suma Park and Spring Creek Augmentation works, Distributor Road and the new Hospital; there are also huge challenges like increasing the water storage (Suma Park expansion), traffic lights at the Cox Avenue and Bathurst Road intersection and looking at an enclosed Aquatic Centre for Orange.

We will still have to make hard decisions, some that will not be popular, some that are imposed by outside influences: ie User pays sewerage and water usage charges. However, we have to always remember that Council has to have a human face, an attitude and commitment to keep the residents informed as best we can.
