The Gnoo Blas racing circuit around the Bloomfield Hospital grounds was for a long time one of the fastest tracks of its type in Australia. It was opened in January 1953 and built by Orange City and Canobolas Shire Councils following a request from the Australian Sporting Car Club. Winners at Gnoo Blas included legendary driver Jack Brabham after whom the adjacent park is named.
