William Nathanial Moulder, son of Joseph Moulder, married Jessie Gardiner at Wellington in 1876. He built ‘Warrendine House’ in 1877. Stables and large farm buildings then stood in the vicinity of the home. There was no Warrendine street, Franklin Road or Gardiner Road in those days. Lord’s Place ended at the Moulder fence which is now Warrendine Street.
When the land was sub-divided in 1911 Warrendine Street was named after W N Moulder’s house. The Warrendine Estate was sold by auctioneers J.S. Leeds and Co., for W.N. Moulder, in the Forresters Hall, on Thursday 11 May 1911.
In his research Ross Marorney notes 'that at least part of the present Warrendine St., eastwards from Lord's Place, was "Endsleigh St" on the 1911 map, also in the 1940s, and there are signs of other number changes'.
