Promoted to Lieutenant 21 March 1916. Returned to Australia Reserves 29 September 1916. Joined from No 3 Company, Imperial Camel Corps. To be temporary Captain whilst commanding Base Depot ICC (Paymaster and Details Captain), 20 October 1916. Transferred to Imperial Camel Corps from 28th Battalion 25 January 1917. To be Captain to establish command Base Depot Coy 3rd Anzac Battalion IC Brigade 25 January 1917. Marched out to 12th Company ICC, Abbassia, 3 February 1917. Attached to Aust Res ICC, El Arish, 4 February 1917. Killed in action, El Mandar near Gaza Egypt, 27 March 1917.
